Welcome to My Blog

Hi, there!

Welcome to my blog, on my personal site!

I can’t imagine i’m finally able to say that. Four years into my career as a developer, I’ve always wanted to have a digital presence under my own name. Finally, after many times of delaying, procrastinating, spend hours or days looking at other people blogs and sites, researching awesome features that could add to my site, trying multiple frameworks, and many more that mostly just “planning”, I decided that it is better to have it done than to make it perfect. Voila, here you are looking at it. My flat, not so fancy site.

My Name is Akbar Ramadhan. I’m a backend engineer from Indonesia. I work for one of the biggest internet service providers (ISP) in my country. I mainly work on internal tools that help other teams do their job, mostly operational teams. I use Node, Typescript, and Golang in my daily activities, mostly. I also code for infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, Python, etc. Since I have cloud certificates, sorry for bragging, I was also tasked to help the customer set up their hybrid or multi-cloud connection to/between AWS, GCP, Alibaba Cloud, and Huawei Cloud.

I split my writing into two pieces here.

First is the Blog. It is where I post my thoughts, projects I built, how-to guides on things I’ve tried, or mini-experiments that I have done.

Second is the Wiki. It is my ever-growing notes, my digital garden, if I may say. It is shorter than a blog post. It contains my notes from everything that I learn. I put what I understand from my learning there. My understanding could be wrong, but I tried to always put my learning source on the page, so if you somehow land on one of my wiki pages, you can always go to my learning sources.

I use my blog and wiki to practice my writing, to test myself against something I’m always reluctant to do. I see writing as a hard task, a daunting task. Even sometimes, I see it’s impossible for me to have a writing. So, if you are here reading this post right now, you are witnessing me break through over my biggest fear.

I also use my writing here to practice my English. I use English pretty often when talking to customers or my colleagues, but I’m never confident in my English writing skills. You may find some bad English throughout my blogs or wikis. However, I use Grammarly sometimes to improve the correctness and clarity of my English writing so the reader is not going far off track.

So, that’s all about me and why I created this site. I hope you find some useful things inside. Happy reading, folks!

Cheers!
